Convention of Counties Explained
THE PROBLEM
The problems we are facing today in WA State might seem to be overwhelming, with taxes being implemented against the will of the citizens, Parental rights being taken by the state, the right for citizens to choose the energy source they want to use for their home or business being taken, education scores in schools, plummeting. Oh, and a Homeless crisis that is being fed with all kinds of taxpayer resources, which allows for the industry to grow exponentially. Crime is rampant.
SCOTUS and early state leaders thought they were doing right by moving to a model of democracy, not realizing they were preparing to enslave a nation.
THE SOLUTION
IF government is to be Of, By and For the People, then it should be a servant of the People.
Our Founding Fathers created a safety net for Constitutional correction, and that included the right for States to call a Convention (Article V Convention) to correct a government that is off track. Enshrined within the US Constitution, this is a protection for ALL.
Today, We the People have a right to support our County Commissioners in calling a Convention of Counties, to restore the voices of Counties in State policies, through reapportioning the State Senate, equally by county.
The Promise:
The U.S. Constitution guarantees to each State a Republican form of Government.
Regardless of when a State was accepted into the Union of States, the rights and guarantees are the same.
We have seen what a modeling of what a republican form of government should include, and yet the voice of the people is more diminished today than ever.
Action will lead to a better future.
